Mobility

A company needs to secure its mobile data. The solution to this problem should include easy access and extended security.

The aim is to secure the internal network but also the mobile data on mobile appliances. The company wishes to assess the economic risk, but also the cost of a potential securing.

Background

It is difficult to assess the amount of information effectively lost by companies. They do not inform about this kind of security problem and sometimes they are not even aware of the real loss inside their organization. Nevertheless, this kind of leakage is constantly increasing and is often due to an internal collaborator (84%) who voluntarily or not disseminates the information.

In the current context, mobility induces new challenges to take up:

  • Opening of the companies to the internet considerably increases the risks for mobile and non-mobile partners.
  • Mobility of data requests a reasonable use of cryptography for data coding but also for identification and management of accesses.
  • Release of updated and available information imposes that the computers are opened to the outside world without compromising security while maintaining usage flexibility.
  • As the type of attacks is evoluting, network filtering has become insufficient. An analysis of the data flow up to the application level must be performed.
